چکیده

Preanesthetic medication in paediatric patients is well known to be a challenge for anaesthesiologists. Premedication population helps produce relaxed state with reduced anxiety and increased compliance as ease separation from parent allowing the patient tolerate co-operate necessary procedure. Our aim do comparation of dexmedetomidine midazolam given via intranasal route children posted tonsillectomy premedication. This study was conducted 100 6 12 years tonsillectomy. Patients were randomly allocated into Group M D. Patient group (50) received 0.2mg/kg administered intranasally nasal drop using 1ml insulin syringe similarly D 1µg/kg drops syringe. Sedation score, Anxiolysis mask induction post-operative agitation score assessed. Satisfactory sedation achieved by 86% 68% respectively p (0.03). 84% 70% (0.09). In terms post op there no difference both (0.30). During time between administration pre drugs initiation anaesthesia, seems develop hypotension, hypoxia or any other life-threatening complication our we concluded that decreasing at parental found equally effective. However, Intranasal produced superior scores compared oral patients.

A comparison of intranasal dexmedetomidine and oral midazolam for premedication in pediatric anesthesia: a double-blinded randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND Midazolam is the most commonly used premedication in children. It has been shown to be more effective than parental presence or placebo in reducing anxiety and improving compliance at induction of anesthesia. Clonidine, an alpha(2) agonist, has been suggested as an alternative. Dexmedetomidine is a more alpha(2) selective drug with more favorable pharmacokinetic properties than cloni...
